Ragbrai Tips for Staying Healthy While Riding

Hey all you bikers getting ready for Ragbria this year. I have some tips that I would like to share for a safe and healthy ride across Iowa.

When you see the Burma Shave signs this year, think of me. Those were my responsiblity from being on the Hospitatlity Planning Committee for this years Ragbrai. A few of my favs are at the bottom of the blog........

1. Stay hydrated. Stop frequently to refill your water bottle.

2. Stretch frequently. Everytime you stop to fill your water bottle, stretch your hamstrings and quadriceps. It is a must before starting the day and also at the end of the day.

3. Don' over heat. Take breaks to cool down, find shade.

4. Don't drink alcohol. That will increase your chances of dehydration.

5. Wear a helmet. You never know what may happen with 15,000 riders.

6. Eat balanced meals. You need to fuel your body with clean foods while enduring these long days.

Bruiser Season Two

Hey all you Bruiser fans!

The season opener will be this Saturday against the Quad City Stallions at 6pm at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. I am stoked for this upcoming season, we finished strong last season. The first home game is scheduled for June 26th at 7pm at Cascade High School. Super excited to play at Senior High School on July 17th at 7pm against our in state competitors: the Iowa Threshers.

I am super charged to be the team doc for all home games. I have treated alot of these guys since last season and they look polished. Its great to be able to treat an injury right on the field and watch them get rignt back into the game. The laser is phenomenal, and its cool because its portable and works immediately!!!!!!! Bruisers are Super Charged!!!!!

Necessity of Water

Water is so important to wellness. Drinking enough water is a key to wieght loss. It is also necessary for normal bodily function. It is needed for waste removal, digestion of food, and to convert food to energy. and you ladies out there, it is necessary for glowing skin, by keeping skin hydrated which makes you look healthy.

SUGESTIONS FOR GETTING 8 GLASSES OR WATER PER DAY

Reach for the water bottle when getting up each morning.

Drink water prior to exercise to ensure hydration

Try to drink at least 4 ounces of water every hour throughout the day.

Add a fresh lemon, orange, or lime slice to give the water good flavor.

While Dieting

Food cravings are very common when dieting. Try drinking some water instead of eating the food you crave. The body may be dehydrated.

Feeling Run Down With The Holidays Around the Corner?

The body may be sending you signals that it is dehydrated. because of difficulty functioning.

Troubled By Constipation

Increase water consumption on a steady basis to keep you regular.

Wow, what a fantastic day. Two All-Star games were awesome! The Dubuque Bruisers played with the north team whose opponent was the east team. They won in a really close game.

MVP was our fearless leader Jamar Jackson as quarterback of the Bruisers. Congrats and good job guys!

Championship Day

What a day!! The Championship game was a nail biter! Came down to the last few seconds. (could of swore I was at an Iowa Hawkeye game).Watched some great athletes perform their magic. Terrific. Perfect day for a ball game. Here are the All Stars!

Meet and greet was fabulous last night. I met all kind of great athletes from all over the US. It was a blast! I have a line forming already for my treatments today at the field. Got my roller skates on!!

First night in Miami and it was awesome! I met some people from Racine Wisconsin last night. They have a son playing in the All-Star game on Sunday.

I LOVE CSI Miami, so I of course had to watch that while I was in Miami.....................it was really cool!!!!! Off to the beach................sunny and warm here! Sign out for now

Its getting closer to travel time. Making sure my lasers will not be affected when passing through security at the airport. Need to have them at full capacity for the players!!!!!! The TSA could pull a fast one on me and nab my laser because they they are so cool.

Hey all, its the week before my trip and I am excited!!!!! I just finished updating my Red Cross First Aid and CPR coursework so I will be ready for anything.

I look forward to meeting tons of new people. I can't complain that the weather may be a little better in Miami than Iowa!!
